Melt the Heart of a Snowman

I remember it like yesterday holding hands and mittens.
That ugly Christmas sweater you bought me kept on itching.

Was it the buzz from the Kahlúa or the jitters from the coffee, when you told me you loved me I never felt so high.

Like that Christmas night. I’m frozen where I stand.

You could melt the heart of a snowman.

We were chasing cabs on Broadway, hiding from the flurries.
Looking for a pub and some shelter from the storm.

The snowflakes on your lips felt like honey when we kissed.
The room began to spin,I never felt so high.

Like that Christmas night. I’m frozen where I stand.

You could melt the heart of a snowman.

Now seasons come and go, like actors on a stage, of a dying Broadway show. We all lose our place, falling out of time. I forget my role, and we forget our lines.

I saw you from a distance, at another Christmas party.
With a fellow half my size, and a sweater worse than mine.

Now I’m all alone on Broadway, trying to hail a cab. But the ghost of Christmas past laughs at me behind my back.

But there’s no going back, I’m frozen where I stand.

You could melt the heart of a snowman.
